Project scope
=============

Anaconda Project is in maintenance mode. The repository's active
development focus is limited to:

* Critical bug fixes against the existing ``anaconda-project``
  command-line tool and library.
* The conversion tooling described in :doc:`pixi-support`, which
  helps users move existing projects onto
  `pixi <https://pixi.sh/>`_ or
  `conda-workspaces <https://github.com/conda-incubator/conda-workspaces>`_.

For new project work, we encourage users to evaluate
`pixi <https://pixi.sh/>`_,
`conda-workspaces <https://github.com/conda-incubator/conda-workspaces>`_,
or `uv <https://docs.astral.sh/uv/>`_ directly.
